Insider Tips: The oldest arts organization in the Morongo Basin, Twentynine Palms Artistsí Guild, owns and operates this ever-changing display of local artistry. The gallery is generally open Wednesday-Sunday 12pm-3pm with limited summer hours. Art classes are available for all ages and range in price $5-$15. The organization also offers a fun youth program.

Projects options include pottery painting, painting desert-themed wood cut-outs, clay classes, stained glass making, encaustic (hot beeswax) painting, bookmaking, mosaic work, and much more! Prices start at $15 per person, depending on the activity. Parties can be organized too: ladies night out, baby showers, painting parties, birthday parties, etc.
Insider Tips: This isnít just a place for food and lodging, both of which are spectacular by the way! 29 Palms Inn offers FREE weekend nature walks led by naturalist Pat Flanagan on their lovely grounds, which includes the Oasis of Mara, on Saturday & Sunday at 8:30am. These walks are very interactive and are open to the entire community, not just hotel guests! Simply call before Friday at 7pm to reserve your spot.
Yoga classes are also available Saturday & Sunday mornings at 8:30am and take place outdoors on the beautiful lawn. The class is walk-in friendly, flexible to each individualís ability and only costs $5.
Live music is played every night of the week starting at 6pm by local musicians, as well as some touring musicians. The type of music varies but is pretty mellow, ranging from folk to acoustic, to blues and jazz to country!

Luckie Park Two Mile & Utah Trail, Twentynine Palms
Insider Tips: This gorgeous park has a plethora of activity options, including a swimming pool (usually open around Memorial Day through the end of August, $1.25-$3 entrance fee), a playground, three picnic shelters, two lighted basketball courts, a lighted skateboard park, four lighted baseball fields, two sets of two horseshoe pits, a lighted soccer field, two racquetball courts and plenty restroom facilities.
Insider Tip: While many assume that these grounds are for guests only, the owners welcome those interested in the Manorís long history here in Twentynine Palms. Free tours of the main house, museum and some of the other separate buildings are available. Also with 25 secluded acres, Roughley Manor is a haven for many bird varieties. Birders are welcome to view Gambelís Quail, American Kestrel, Greater Roadrunner, different species of Warbler, and much more! Please call ahead for availability.
Insider Tips: This non-profit organization provides FREE public viewing events on most Saturday evenings (when darkness falls), where you can see and learn about the beautiful night sky: constellations, planets and all. Visit during the daytime also to enjoy the nature trail, meditation garden and picnic area.
Insider Tips: Certainly there is bowling available, but there is also a small bar called Back Alley that holds karaoke on Thursday and Saturday nights starting at 9pm. Kidís bowling leagues (ages 6-17) are offered on Saturday mornings and The Bowladium also hosts pool leagues (summer and winter seasons)! Donít forget to check out the delicious Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken after working up an appetite from bowling.
Insider Tips: This is a very unique gallery that features local artists and pieces that the owner acquires in her travels. The property actually holds a glass outhouse, a bathroom built from unclaimed glass doors! There are also some trails that can be wandered, peace can be found at the Zen garden, or prayer can be had at the small non-denominational church. The gallery is open Tuesday-Sunday 1:00-5:00PM but the church can be visited at any time.
Insider Tips: This non-profit community theatre has been providing quality entertainment to our community since 1999. Tickets range from $8-$12 and shows are normally Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees. There is also a small concession stand, where light refreshments and snacks can be purchased.

In the warmer months (April-October), the Casino hosts a FREE outdoor concert series, which features a different local tribute band every Friday night. Need a place to go check out the upcoming game or fight? Shellyís Lounge, inside the Tortoise Rock Casino, has multiple big screen televisions that showcase exciting MMA or UFC fights, as well as major sporting events.
